Freight forwarding

One partner to organise the whole journey.

Overview

A freight forwarder organises the transport of goods on behalf of the shipper or the recipient. Instead of dealing with each carrier, port, airport and customs office separately, you work with one partner who coordinates the whole chain.

Cargo Express acts as your point of contact: we plan the shipment, book the transport, prepare and check the documents, and keep you informed of each recorded step.

Forwarding is particularly useful when a shipment involves several stages or several modes of transport, or when you ship regularly and want a consistent process.

What the service can include

  • Planning of the shipment and choice of carriers
  • Bookings with the carriers involved
  • Preparation and verification of the documents
  • Coordination of collection, transfers and delivery
  • Liaison with customs brokers, terminals and warehouses
  • Single point of contact for questions and updates
  • Online tracking of each recorded stage

How it works

  1. Briefing

You describe your goods, your schedule and your constraints.

  2. Organisation

We design the transport solution and send a written quotation.

  3. Execution

We book, document and coordinate each stage with the parties involved.

  4. Follow-up

Each confirmed movement is recorded and visible in the tracking.

  5. Completion

The goods are delivered and the shipment documents are closed.

Documents usually required

  • Commercial invoice and packing list
  • Shipping instructions
  • Transport documents issued for each stage
  • Customs documents, when formalities are included

The exact list depends on the goods, the origin and the destination. We confirm it with you before shipping.

Suited for

  • Shipments involving several stages or carriers
  • Companies that ship regularly
  • First-time importers and exporters
  • Businesses that want one point of contact

Questions about this service

What is the difference between a freight forwarder and a carrier?

A carrier — an airline, a shipping line or a trucking company — physically moves the goods. A freight forwarder organises the shipment, chooses and books the carriers, handles the documents and coordinates the stages on your behalf.

Do I still need to provide documents?

Yes. You remain responsible for providing accurate information about the goods — description, value, weight, origin — and the commercial documents. We check them and prepare the transport documents from them.

Can you handle regular shipments?

Yes. For regular flows, we can agree a standard process with you. The conditions are confirmed in writing.
